over decades of practice.

The Developing Works, May, 2026

Studio practice often unfolds across several paintings and illustrations simultaneously. These developing works follow the arc from initial gesture to finished image. The CA paintings are a new evolving series. A large work in progress, begun in 2025. Originally conceived as an international composition, it is now evolving into a California-based group of collage subjects.

The New York Women Series

XIV Florence Biennale, October 2023

Hands On is the 2023 series I began specifically in keeping with the I Am You theme of the Biennale. The point was that as a collective humanity we all work with our hands to accomplish wonderful things.

Originally my goal was to live by writing and illustrating my own picture books. It was not to be. I have many portfolios of unpublished picture books. These illustrations are from those files.
